With more than 18 years of experience in the financial sector, much of which was spent on Wall Street, Bilal Basrai is well positioned to help younger analysts make a name for themselves. He has the following tips for those who are struggling to set themselves apart from the pack.
Don’t Dwell on Failure
Everybody on Wall Street has made a bad choice at one point or another in their career. The majority will have done so multiple times.
The important thing to remember is that you can’t let this affect you in the long term. Whenever you do make a mistake, examine the mistake carefully, learn from it and then use what you learned to further your career.
Networking is one of the most important things that you can do in the world of business, as it allows you to build connections with people who may be able to help you in your career or provide useful information. Take time to build a network of professional colleagues and make sure that you continually nurture those relationships in order to keep them strong.
Bilal Basrai points out that nobody on Wall Street makes a success of themselves without fully committing to their work. You need to be constantly researching, analyzing and learning in order to make the right choices, so if you aren’t prepared to fully commit to a career on Wall Street, it may be time to think about moving on to something else.
